Deep Sky Image Gallery.

The Deep Sky gallery brings together a collection of images which show objects lovingly referred to as the 'faint fuzzies'. These objects often appear as faint, almost ghostly ojects when viewed through a telescope, without the aid of photography. By using long exposure photography, on a tracking mount, the beautiful structure and colour of these objects can be seen.

The colours seen in the images on these pages are real, they have not been added by computer. The CCD on digital cameras, or good old fashioned film is able to pick up the colouts which the human eye cannot see. The sensors in the eye which allow us to see at night, do not pick up colour information, so these objects appear faint and monochrome to our dark adapted eyes.

We hope you enjoy looking at the collection of images we've had submitted by our members.
