Come and join us for our annual open day at the Eric Tomney Memorial Observatory from 12-5pm on the 12th September 2026.
Whether you already have an interest in astronomy or are simply curious about what happens inside an observatory, this is a great opportunity to come along and explore!
You will get to see the observatory and equipment up close, observe the sun (clouds permitting!) through specialised solar observing equipment.
You will also get to visit the newly opened "Stars Over Mugdock" astrophotography exhibition in the Campsie Gallery.
No previous astronomy experience is needed and beginners are very welcome.
You will find us at Mugdock Country Park, and entry is free.
You can get a free ticket via Eventbrite to help us gauge numbers, but no ticket is needed for entry on the day.
